(No worries man, not exactly been able to keep up myself... *sighs* Also - sorry, naff, tried to finish it...)
Vaysey, whether to her disappointment or her plan, was completely oblivious to her plans. It was mostly to do with his lack of attention to women in general - he hadn't had such interaction with them in a long time (his interactions with Marian were certainly more masculine than anything, and generally ended up with him wanting to slit her throat), and he'd never had any interest in the softer gender to warrant him really learning anything about them.
It didn't mean it didn't set some alarm bells when she complemented him.
Now, people sucked up to Vaysey. Most of the lords around were proof of this, one of the most obvious being Merton. It was a common thing, and he quite liked it - a case of do as I say or be hung, drawn, quartered and thrown to the starving peasants for dinner. To be called kind... was interesting. And to be called wise? That bordered on weird. He felt a little out of sorts, but nodded in recognition. He still had to keep up appearances. And she was... touching him? He was a little uncomfortable with that, but he didn't let it show. That just wasn't proper.
"My ladyship knows much of Nottingham already, it appears," he replied, eye catching Gisborne loitering around a stall. Turning back to Liselle, he nodded his head. "I'm afraid you will have to excuse me, I need to see a man about an archery contest." With that, he stood up and left to see his second-in-command.
Either Guy had made sure no outlaws were around, or he'd caught them already, because if he hadn't done either then what was he doing getting a drink? Good help was so hard to find...
