About your Character
Name: Luke Scarlett
Nickname:Lukey (Maybe, at the moment my brain fails me at remembering if anyone ever called him that.)
Age:16
Country:England
Position:(Outlaw, King's man, Sheriff's man, etc…) Villager/Peasant, Family of an Outlaw.
Job: Unemployed for the moment, although he will be getting a job at the mill in Knighton owned by Peter Miller fairly quickly.
Eye Color: Amber
Hair Color: Brown
Height: 5'8”
General Appearance:(Minimum of two paragraphs, please) At 5'8” (and still growing) Luke is heading in the same direction as his brother; tall and lanky, but he has yet to achieve the beanpole appearance of Will. He is also stockier than his brother, however, this slight weight advantage hasn't helped him to win in any of the various scraps the two of them have had over the years.
Luke's hair is slightly too long for his aunt's liking, dark brown and usually unkempt because he tries to avoid brushing it. His face is clean shaven because he is too young to grow anything even remotely resembling a beard and he has a rather square jaw. His aunt often says that if he'd just stop that ungainly scowling he would look a fine young man which usually just makes him scowl all the more.
Likes:
Will (Well he looks up to him, although he'd never admit it.)
The Outlaws
Girls
Jake and the farm.
Dislikes:
Hard work
Being told what to do by Will
Being called young
Talking about his father (specifically his death)
Wood and carving.
The Sheriff
Horses (But he doesn't know how to ride, and after his first experience he's never going near them again.)
Personality:(Minimum of two paragraphs, please) As the youngest child in his family Luke was somewhat spoilt as a boy (until of course the new Sheriff came in to power) and while he grouches about the way Will still treats him like a child he secretly likes the way he can rely on his brother to look out for him. When it comes to work he's rather lazy and while he's intelligent and capable he prefers to let other people do the difficult jobs.
During the years living with his father and brother he was rather quiet and shy, following his brother and pretty much living in his shadow. But his time spent in Scarborough brought him out of his shell a bit making him far more boisterous and confident. After his father died and he was sent back to Scarborough by Will he took to brooding but when he grew tired of this (as no 16 year old boy can be expected to brood forever) and the constant nagging from his Aunt Annie he became determined to return to Nottingham to join the outlaws.
Family:
Father: Dan Scarlett (Deceased)
Mother: Jane Scarlett (Deceased)
Siblings: Will Scarlett (19)
Background:(Minimum of two paragraphs, please) Luke was born in Locksley and spent the first nine years of his life in blissful ignorance, enjoying the finer things in life like annoying his older brother, catching frogs and playing with the other boys in the village. When the old Sheriff left and the new one took over he didn't really understand why his parents were so upset. The other guy was old anyway and it's not like Knighton Hall was a bad place to live.
He quickly learnt to hate the new Sheriff, especially when his mother died. His father tried to teach both of them his trade, but while Will appeared to be a natural Luke had no patience for carpentry and eventually gave up, instead getting a job on a local farm doing odd jobs. Things quickly got worse in Nottingham and he and his brother were driven to poaching food, but they stopped for a time when it cost Dan his hand.
By the time Robin returned the Scarlett boys were desperate once more and tried to steal some flour from Peter's mill in Knighton but were quickly caught. The time Luke spent in the castle dungeons and on the gallows were some of the scariest moments of his life and they only darkened his feelings towards the Sheriff.
Luke was very angry at Will for staying behind when he and his father left for Scarborough and also envious that his older brother had the courage to stay and fight the Sheriff. He again ended up doing odd jobs, seemingly too unmotivated to try his hand at anything that required more than minimal practice. The return to Nottingham and his father's death were hard to take for Luke and he found it even harder to leave Will again knowing that his brother would be fighting the very man who had killed both their parents.
He finally decided to come back for good this time and is looking for work, although nothing too strenuous. If he has his way, and can live up to the stubborn streak that seems to run in the family, he'll be trying to join the outlaws.
Anything else: Luke can't read or write and probably wouldn't have the patience to learn even if someone had the time to teach him. He does seem to have a head for numbers though, but nobody has tested him past working out the tax increases.
