Baher was born in northern Ireland to Garard and Patricia Lynch. Gereard was a blacksmith who made weapons and armour for knights. (usually foreigners) He made weapons for himself and, later, his son. Baher spent most of his childhood at the docks with his two friends, shane and William. They were brothers and the sons of a merchant. The three were inseperable up until their early teens and Baher was often seen assisting his friends in their father's shop. When they weren't being useful the three were being annoying and were often beaten by the sailors for sneaking on to trade ships or stealing supplies.
When Baher was thirteen Shane and William's family moved to England so that their father could make more money. Baherwas left alone, which he hated at first but gradually got used to. Much f his time was now taken up with helping his father and learning the 'tricks of the trade'. Most of his free time was still spent at the docks, but instead of making a nuisance of himself Baher was practicing with the daggers he and his father had made together. He became less outgoing and spent increasing ammounts of time wandering around outside the town.
Baher grew more reclusive over the next few years, mot talking to anyone but hs parents where he could avoid it. He was aprenticed to his father full time when he turned 15, although he didn't inherit his father's expertise with metal. His father's skill, however, drew the attention of a band of outlaws. Gerard had provided weapons and armour for the local law, they were much higher quality than the outlaw's gear which led them to try and steal some of them from him. The outlaws raided the Lynch's when Baher was 19. The family awoke and Gererd confronted the bandits using one of his own swords. He was no match for the outlaws who fatally injured him then, as punishment for opposing them, the leadered his wife in front of him. Baher was this happen and was too stunned to react as the outlaws escaped leaving his father bleeding to death. Baher went to his father and promised to avenge him and his mother.
Baher followed the outlaws to their hideout in the woods a few miles from the town. He hid near the camp for several days, learning about the outlaws. He alerted the guards to the outlaws whereabouts and acompanied them on the attack. The bandits were so surprised that they put up little resiatance and Baher and the guards killed or captured the majority of the outlaws. Their leader, the one who killed Baher's parents, escaped. Baher spent the next couple of years searching all over the country for them. He never had any sucess. When he turned 21 he gave up and returned to Larne. His father's shop had been taken over by new owners as none of the family had been seen for years. Baher took this as a sign that he should leave for somewhere new. He got passege on a trade ship headed to England. He made a promise to himself to aid any who needed it. For a couple more years moved from place to place, helping those less fortunate where he could. He never stayed in one place for long.
