About your Character
Name: Don Javier De Aragon
Nickname: Javi; Havvey, to anyone English.
Age: 21
Country: Spain
Position:Peasant posing as a Nobleman
Job: He was a fisherman back in Spain, before he fled, now he’s living off his wits and is staying at the Castle, pretending to be a rich Spanish nobleman
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Height: 5’9”
General Appearance:Javier is hardly the archetypal British nobleman, with his skin turned dark, even for a Spaniard, from his work out at sea. However, despite any initial misgivings anyone may have, he plays the part as well as if he was born to it. From his arrogant airs and graces and the way he holds himself, to the extensive work that goes into his hair each morning and the way he quirks his lips up at exactly the right moment during polite conversation.
He arrived in Nottingham with a case full of the latest French fashions and always looks his best, whether his dress is immaculate or if he’s stylishly dishabille. He tends to grin at absolutely everything, but has learnt its often best to keep a serious face when around the gentry, they’re such a sombre lot.
Likes: Laughing, Fencing, Dancing, Getting away with things he shouldn’t, Pretty girls
Dislikes: People who are out to get him, Moors
Personality:Confidence is one of the few things Javier has in spades, and it has gotten him into trouble many a time. He finally found a use for all this built up almost-arrogance when he began impersonating a lord, and he slipped right into that social circle like a hand into a glove. Most of the time he cant help but laugh at things, even himself, and can always see an upside to everything.
There are very few things that can get Javier down, though Moors are one of them. He‘s wary of Saracens, fearing they will do to his new-found English home what the Moors did to Spain, but he doesn’t usually let it bother him. If it does, he doesn’t let it show. You’d be hard pressed to get Javier to show you any of his real feelings, he keeps those carefully locked away behind his winning smile.
Family: Javier comes from a very male-orientated family. His mother had four sons, three of which survived infancy. He is the youngest of the three and was the only one who escaped the fighting and managed to flea to France
Background: Javier‘s family was hit hard by the Moorish invasion and his father and two older brothers were sent off to defend the country almost as soon as the latest wave hit. Javier and his mother were able to flea the country, and met up with relatives of theirs in southern France.
Here, Javier had his first experience of playing a Lord. His French relatives were troubadours, who educated him in Greek, Latin and the arts - he also picked up French very quickly, though his English is still patchy, and he has very little knowledge of science and philosophy. All he was asked of in return was his help with there performances, which is where the acting came in. One day it stuck him, why shouldn’t he be like this always? His mother scolded him and wept when she heard of his plan to run away to England and impersonate a noble, but his French relatives laughed, and wished him well. They helped perfect his acting, and together they stole bits and bobs here and there from passing dignitaries.
Javier arrived in Sherwood three days ago and is still settling in. He “acquired” a letter of diplomatic dispensation to stay in England for the foreseeable future and the Sheriff was more than welcome to put up a wealthy Spanish nobleman.
Anything else: He has no love for the Sheriff, but no desire to get on his bad side, either.
