The past few key events of Gina's life buzzed in her mind as stared at Gavin. It was only the two of them left in camp. Wellsy was off somewhere, Tristan was away wooing Alice, Josh had probably followed Si and Toddy had probably gone for a wander. Since Alife's recent arrival, this was the first time Gina had had the chance to talk to Gavin on his own. She'd have prefered him to be drunk though, they always got closer when he was drunk. But beggars can't be choosers, and she was very close to being a beggar. Only her pride stood in the way of that really.
She was oddly nervous. She was never nervous. It was just the idea of what Gavin thought of her now she'd brought Toddy into the camp. Would he be jealous like she hoped? Or just even madder at her than usual? Probably the latter. Gavin? Jealous of Toddy? That would be the day - and utterly hilarious! Just thinking of that was calming Gina's alien nerves. But she was still at a loss as to how she was going to talk to him.
Maybe she should just go up to him and pretend like all is normal and wait for him to address it, if it needed addressing. But things weren't normal. She felt this hyperactive buzz between them because of theirsaucy interesting morning together. And she couldn't help but wonder if he felt it too. Though it wasn't as if she couldn'tjust not pretend to be completely fine. Chances were she would be able to rat out if Gavin was lying, he wasn't as good as she was. No one was.
Deciding it was high time she went over to badger him, Gina got up not bothering brush off the dust. Her clothes were already caked in the stuff, and even though she liked to be clean a little extra dust wasn't going to hurt. She was planning on robbing new clothes anyway. She sauntered over to the man she loved, trying to leave some sort of impression on him. She sat down next to him, probably a little too close for comfort as Gina had no sense of personal space.
"Gaaaavinnnn." She elongated the pronunciation, because she was very bored. There wasn't much for them to do in the forest. The only fun they ever had was when they were drunk or robbing stuff. Or also, in Gina's case, when she had Gavin to herself. The other night would be forever stored in her mind as one of the good nights. "I'm bored. Wanna go rob someone?"
