Sheriff's Men

They work for the Sheriff and are, for the most part, loyal to him.

[/li][li]Sheriff's Man
[/li][li]Thugish, bullying, violent, sadistic, cruel.
[/li][li]Jacob was born and raised in a small village in the south of England. He was quickly recruited into the guard and through loyalty, intimidation and a penchant for violence ended up working for the Sheriff Vaysey. He was one of the few men who was sent on, and survived, the attempt on the King's life headed by Gisborne. Because of his experience and lack of moral compass he can be trusted with the more unpleasant and discrete jobs set to him by the Sheriff.

[/li][li]Sir Guy's man
[/li][li]loyal, passionate, kind, charming, romantic, has a temper
[/li][li]James was born in Locksley and was best friends with John Barns Jr. He was a farmer's son who wanted to go to the Holy Land, but stayed in Locksley to help his father. When he found out that John Barns Senior died, he joined Sir Guy's guard. Though he is conflicted whether he supports Prince John or King Richard, he wants to protect the only family he has now, the Barns. His father had died a year ago.

Jasper Fielding
[/li][li]20
[/li][li]Sheriff's Guard
[/li][li] temper, appears cruel, has a kind side that rarely shows, fiercely loyal
[/li][li]Born in Nettlestone, his father was a guard to the previous Sheriff and was murdered in the line of duty. So Jasper feels like it is his duty to be a guard for the current Sheriff. Even though he may not agree with the Sheriff, he uses all his skills and responsibilities to take out his anger for the death of his father on Hood and other thieves.

Mina Bennett[/li][li]Alias: Mason Nash
[/li][li]24 (says she is 17 to explain her small stature)
[/li][li]Sheriff's Guard/Dogsbody
[/li][li]Feisty, adventerous, rash, quick to judge.
[/li][li]All her life Mina wanted more than to grow up and learn how to sew, cook and clean for the husband her father told her she would have one day. At the age of 12 she plucked up the courage to run away from home and she lived as a street urchin. She quickly learned that even on the streets with the poorest of the poor it was easier to get by if you were male so she cut her hair short and started dressing as a boy. Eventually she returned to Nottingham as she believed joining the Sheriff's guard would award her the taste for adventure she'd always craved. Obviously Vaysey was not going to hire a
girl to guard him so she continued her charade and having lived as a boy on the streets for all those years she has almost perfected her act.

Kevin Broker
[/li][li]23
[/li][li]Sheriff's man/Jailer
[/li][li]Cowardly, vindictive, sadistic, cruel.
[/li][li]Rarely seen outside of the dungeons Kevin lives to make the stay of the prisoners in his domain as miserable as possible. He is not well built in stature and his deathly pale skin tone is a sign of just how much time he spends in the dank cells and all this adds up to a rather ghostly appearance. Despite his rather weedy build it would not do you well to underestimate his ability to inflict pain. He is a master of torture although he lacks the talent of gathering information as he is often too busy trying to hurt the person as much as possible.

Richard Oak[/li][li]40
[/li][li]Sebastian's Man/Archer/Torturer
[/li][li]Selfish, Self-loving, Malicious, Sadistic, Cruel
[/li][li]Richard's father was a guard, as was his father and so on. Each loyal to their Sherrif's - with the exception of Richard. He hated Edward, but since Vaysey took over Richard has really loved his job. Torturing peasants, being cruel, beating people up - he loves it all. The only downside is being ordered about by Jacob, but he lives with it as he gets free reign on the whole torturing thing. He gets kicks from being hated. He has recently taken on Ross Fletcher as his apprentice as he has no children of his own to follow in his footsteps. On Sebastian Mannering's arrival in Nottingham Richard asked to be transferred to work for him rather that Gisborne.
[/li][li]Face Claim: Anthony Hopkins
Name: Ross Fletcher
[/li][li]26
[/li][li]Seastian's Man/Swordsman
[/li][li]Loyal to the highest bidder, money-grabbing, sarcastic, quick learner, sneaky.
[/li][li]Ross is Richard Oak’s protégé, if you will, and as such is learning to be one hell of a git from the older, crueller man. Ross isn’t quite so good with blood and torture, but he’s definitely getting there as he has practice. He likes the current regime and is fairly confident it’s going to stay this way. The highest bidder for his skills is Prince John and the Sheriff, and that looks like where he’s going to stay. Prior to being a Sheriff’s man, he was a fletcher, his family’s trade (as his surname suggests). He’s a fairly poor archer, though. When Richard moved to work for Sebastian he followed.

Christian DuPont[/li][li]26
[/li][li]Second in Command
[/li][li]Ruthless, Quick to anger, Proud, Devious
[/li][li]Christian was born into a family of lesser nobles who’d been granted land during the Norman conquest of Britain, but who had very little to show for it by the time his father came into inheritance. Christian was forced to go into work as soon as he was old enough, though he found his title made him instantly employable. He spent a fair bit of his time being paid to follow people, and, if needs be, dispatch with them. However, when the crusades started, such work became scarce and he was forced to find more stable employment, which he eventually came upon in the form of the Sheriff’s guard. Again, he found his title stood him in good stead, and with the skills he acquired over the years, he was soon elevated to second in command of the guard. The men have a grudging respect for him, although many harbour resentment because of his French origins.
Unbeknownst to him, he has a younger sister. His mother had an affair with another nobleman, and as soon as their child was born, they ran away, disguising themselves as peasants, and Christians father spent the next five years tracking her down, before staging their accidental death, although found himself unable to murder the child, so left it to perish. Christian’s mother gave her daughter a non French, non religious name - Regina - to spite her Norman husband. Christian believes his mother died at the time she ran away.

Assassins

We're putting a limit on the number of assassin characters that can be present on the board at any one time. The group of assassin includes bounty hunters and other trained killers. There can only be three assassins, one of each type which you can choose from below. Apart from that we're leaving the details of the character up to you.
- One assassin working for The Sheriff/Prince John.
- One assassin working against The Sheriff.
- This character would most likely be a Saracen. It may be possible that they're working for the King without his knowledge under the mistaken impression that this is the right thing to do.
- One rogue assassin.
Also there can only be one female assassin, as it would be unusual for a woman to fill this role.
