Djaq laughed as she looked down at what she was wearing. "Perhaps," she said with a shrug before returning to the dressing room to try on the more appropriate clothes. The green tunic and vest along with the pants fit her nicely already, though it was a little loose in the waist. She walked back out.
"This is much better," she said, running her hand through her hair. It had been conitnually growing longer and now she was debating whether to keep it cut short or to let it grow out long. It would be difficult to fight with long hair, but Marian seemed to manage.

"Would there be anything else my lady?" she asked as she tied off the final thread and stood.
She went back to the wardrobe and gathered a sack from the pile for them to put their purchases into. She gathered the items they had both chosen and placed them in neatly and folded. She placed it by the desk so Marian could put her old clothes into it and the Saracen hers.
"Whenever you need anyhting my lady, don't hesitate."

Marian grinned and replied "Perhaps..."
Marian thanked the girl with a beaming smile and embraced her " Your kindness shall be rewarded" she beamed, "For I think I have some men who are in need of new clothes, would you replace some? If we gave you a sample of each mans clothing as something you could measure against?"

Kate nodeed, "That I could my lady. It would take a while long to taper and tailor, as they are not here, and it is easier to do it when the model is here my lady. But I could do it." she was rambling, she knew it, so decided it was probably better to stop herself from doing so and change the subject slightly.
"If you know what clothing it is they need and have things for me to measure against, then I can make a start. But the longer you are here my lady, the more danger you are in. Guard watch Knighton m'lady. They think you'll come back, to..." she didn't know if she would be penalised for saying what she did next, but she did, "To grieve the loss of your father m'lady."

Marian blinked. To grieve the loss of her father... guilt washed over her. When was the last time she had stood by her fathers grave? Laid flowers?
What was she doing here? Of course this would be the first place the guards would look for her. She looked at Djaq who was staring.
Marian took Kate by the arms and asked sternly " Have they asked you about me? What do you know?"

Djaq saw the way Marian reacted and she stepped forward, putting a hand on Marian's arm. "Perhaps it would be wise if we leave soon," she said. She didn't want to lose an alliance with the young woman who had helped them so much in the past couple of minutes.
"I thank you for the clothes, and we will be back for the men. If anyone does ask about Marian, I hope you not mention this visit. Marian?" Djaq turned to face the older woman.

Kate jolted into a frozen stance, fear rippled through her, "They haven't asked m'lady. But Rumours. Talk of the villagers, talk of Nottingham. If you are with Robin Hood m'lady, they will want you captured. They've posted more guards here since your father's death in attempt to catch Robin Hood. The Sheriff always knew of the torch he carried for you, and if you were ever here grieving your loss, then they didn't think he would be far behind."
Her breath was thin and shaky, she hadn't meant for her Lady to get an upset, but she had to speak the truth, it wasn't safe for her to be here, not since Sir Guy had torched her house to the ground.
"I would never tell them of your visit my lady. You have always been good to us, and I shall return the favour. Maybe when the men's clothes are picked up, you send a less suspicious member."

Marian was still staring at the girl, realising her gaze could be intimidating she hugged her again and whispered "Please... I knew you once, Katey... You are a good woman, please do not tell of me... To anyone"
And with that she strode over to the table collected the clothes, said she would arrange for the men's clothes to be delivered and exited with Djaq, pulling her hood over her face to shield her watery eyes from the world.
