It was too dangerous to go to the open market, in any village. Word had spread fast that the Sherrif had doubled the guard patrol around Nottingham. Marian walked quickly by Djaq's side, her eyes darting in every direction trying to keep their heads covered by their hoods. Still no sign of Robin. Marian knew where she was going, it was always very busy around Knighton at this time of day, and the home she was going to was one she had not entered in many years, and she hoped and prayed that the girl she was hoping to find wouldn't ask too many questions. "Here it is" she breathed to Djaq who was looking around to check they werent being watched, the crowds and crowds of people were flocking from the church and so for now the guards were at the top end chatting amongst themselves stopping every now and then to prod a villager as they passed. Marian knocked on then wooden door...

Kate stood from the chair which she sat in, a dress thrown over her lap now forgotten on the floor. She walked slowly and quietly over to the front door on their small home, and looked through the crack, it wasn't a guard. What she saw to say the least was slightly shocking, she hadn't expected it.
She opened the door to her Lady and curtsied to her. "Lady Marian?" she questioned as she held the door open for them to enter. She wasn't really sure why she felt it safe to allow the woman into her home so openly. Especially since the Sheriff was out for her blood. And her fiancés for that matter. "What can I do for you my Lady?"

Djaq was rather surprised when Marian chose to come to Knighton. It was a little dangerous considering this was now a place that could possibly be heavily guarded. But then this is what Marian knew best, she guessed. Djaq had put on her over sized jacket for disguise, though the deep purple probably would give her away.
She had her hand on the hilt of her sword and the position of their horses in her mind, just in case the guards did attack. Djaq could not let Marian be caught. Who knew how Guy and the Sheriff would exact their revenge. When they got to the Miller's house, Djaq waited for Marian to go in first before following. It was warm inside and she felt a little more comfortable, not being out in the open. She noticed a young girl curtsying to Marian and hide a smile.
"We need some clothes," Djaq said.

Kate looked at the Saracen women, so it was true, her Lady was with the outlaws now. She'd known she was engaged, but she never realised she'd be with them. She'd been in the castle a while after all. "Clothes I can do m'am," she smiled and went to pick the dress from the floor and throw it out of sight in an attempt to tidy the place.
"My mother's gone to market, to get some more fabric, she'll be back soon," she said picking up a few of her mothers newer items that were commissions. "I don't know if these would fit my Lady, but they're good for design as it were. I can easily take down a few orders and such for you and have them made quickly. It depends what find mothers makes at market."

Marian scanned the room, experience had taught her not to trust anyone, but she felt like this was the last place any guard would come looking. Even so she searched for any sign of the young girl to be acting shifty, waiting to run at any moment, but the moment never came- the girl seemed overjoyed to be in her pressence, she nodded back in thanks and said "I thank you for your kindness. I have to apologise at putting your family at risk, but I am in desperate need of clothes- I can pay you well!" and handing the girl a small bag of money she hoped it would be enough to show the girl she really did care about her welbeing and not just about the dresses, this money would at least feed them for a month, and perhaps would pursuade the girls family not to go to the Sheriff...

Kate took the money and tossed it into the draw of the work desk her mother had set up. "What clothing will you be requiring my lady. Dresses, or shirts and breachers for the forest? I can not imagine it a great place for running around in a frock my lady." She headed for the cupboard that stood in the corner of the room and took out teh truck from the bottom of it. It contained many a dress, shirts and all different types of clothing that her family could offer. Some made to fit, some were simply designs that they could then tailor make for the client.
Something told Kate that she'd be wanting clothing fast, not wanting to wait around for it to be made for her. Especially now she resided with Robin in the forest. "Take a look my Lady, you can take out what you desire and I can state you a price, if you've paid mor than that already, then Ishall give you your change."

"Shirts and breeches would be the best, I think,' Djaq said and she saw what the girl had to offer. Djaq hadn't really ever worn the English lady's fashion as she was immediately introduced to the forest and had never been in Marian's position. She remembered the last time Marian had been an outlaw. Her clothes had been quite fine and nice, but a little impractical for the forest.

Marian shook her head " No, you can have the change- a gift for the danger I feel I may be putting you in." She made her way over to the trunk and rifled through them. She wasn't entirely sure what she was looking for. And thought about her attire for the Nighthwatchmen, they were tight and fitted so she guessed this would be the best thing to ask for, agreeing with Djaq she asked " Yes afew shirts and breeches should do!"

"Thank you my lady," she nodded and passed the bag to them, "Take what you need, and I'll happily adjust anything if it needs it at a later date, or now. Whenever my lady," she walked over to her front door and shut it, looking to see if any Guards were paying attentiion to her house at the time. They weren't thankfully.
She shut the door and headed for the desk, pulling out a quill and parchment. "Could you simply mark the items you takes my lady, then my mother can father can know what they have to replace."

Marian nodded and ended up picking 4 plain shirts and 2 pairs of breeches, she wasn't frightened to do her share of the washing, and felt that having more to wash would give her more to do, and plus she didn't want to hold too much room. There were things she wanted back from the castle that she needed room for by her bunk, so the less clutter she had the better. She marked off what she taken and stood ready to be measured.

Kate smiled and grabs the fabric piece her mother used for a measuring tape, and held it out, the leg from the hip to the floor was the first measurement she took, and fingered through the pairs of breachers they had chosen and passed her the ones the right length. "Lengthwise these should fit my lady, if you go through to the next room you can change and I'll be able to taper the waist for you."
She indicated the room of from the main one, that had a piece of cloth to cover the doorway, it acted as a changing room for her mothers clients, and in turn hers.

Marian was pleased when she looked into the mirror, it was different sure, but she began to feel the part of the outlaw. She pulled the shirt on and imagined what these clothes would see. How would Guy react when he saw her as the outlaw he had made her? How would Robin see her? She imagined the comments he would make and chuckled to herself, she was quite excited. And so she stepped out side (checking through the window first, and it seemed all was clear), and Kate began the pinning and measuring with a smile.

As Djaq waited for Marian to change, she looked through the clothes. She had on her normal purple shirt that fit her like a glove, and her dark brown breeches, but she supposed she needed a change from purple. She found a light green tunic and a tight, lace up vest of darker green. Along with it there was dark brown breeches. These seemed to catch her eye the most.
She decided to look through the dresses and found her eye attracted to a cream colored dress. She wondered what Will would think if he saw her in a dress. Allan had also said she should wear more dresses, but a dress was quite impractical, so she shrugged the idea away.
When Marian finished, Djaq went to try on the clothes. They seemed to fit quite nicely. She then walked out to where the Miller's daughter and Marian were.

Kate knelt and quick cut and sew the breeches wait line to fit her Lady. It was an odd feeling doing it for such a high status woman. She;d never been in the presence of her this close before now. Afte she was finished on one side she tied it off in a tight knot and broke the remaining thread with her teeth, and started on the other side. "My lady?" she started timidly before stopping and looking up at her noble.
"What made you decide to live in the forest, if it isn't too bold to ask that is." she fidgeted on her knees and continued to taper the breeches.

Marian stared at Kate. She wasn't angry at her comment. It simply caught her by surprise. "What made me go?"she repeated, unsure if she could give this girl the whole story, and simply said "matters beyond my contole if I am truthful. Terrible things have occured and it was safest for me to reside in the forest." She explained truthfully. Leaving out the fact that half of her reasoning was so she could be with Robin. It was true- she could have escaped to anywhere- a convent perhaps- but her heart belonged in the forest with her fiance, and perhaps this showed in the smile that now glued to her face...
Marian's eyes widened a little as Djaq stepped out in these nice new clothes, she giggled and said "Forest wear, Djaq?" Djaq did look incredibly pretty, her short hair bouncing off her shoulders- it had grown longer during the past few weeks and framed her face perfectly. Marian wasn't surprised or anything, she knew Djaq could look beautiful in a dress and the attire she was wearing now seemed alot more feminine and fitted. Marian remarked at how pretty she looked and if they werent in such danger she would have suggested a trying on of all the clothes, but she worried that if she stayed longer than was needed they'd be tempting fate... although, since when was having a little fun tempting fate?
