Allan hadn’t been expecting Luke to wake up happy and chirpy, but he also hadn’t expected to be head butted, and so he’d fallen over onto his arse and completely missed Luke’s rushing to his brother’s side and the consequent reassurances. He pondered the odd constellations clouding his view for a moment, then shook his head in order to try and get rid of the sight.
Rubbing at his chin and slightly dizzy, he pushed himself back onto his knees and watched, slightly awkwardly, as Will led his brother away from hysterics and back into calm. He felt like he was intruding on a private moment and wanted to turn away but couldn’t. And yet he couldn’t bring himself to speak; Luke needed a word with his brother. After a few moments, he managed to get enough energy and motivation to push himself onto his feet and cough slightly, interrupting only briefly.
”I’m going to go get some more water from the stream,“ he muttered, moving to collect a bucket and try to be on his way as quickly as possible. He’d said what he wanted to, and it didn’t seem like Will had heard him (or if he had, it didn’t seem he was going to mention it) and he understood that now it was Luke’s turn.
(OOC - sorry short, my muse has run off on me into the world of fic instead >_>;; )

Luke felt the hand on his head, fingers in his hair, touch warm and very much alive. For a moment he didn't believe it and remained still, breath hitching as he dared to hope that maybe his brother was actually awake. ”I'm all right.” Will said to him gently. Far from having the desired effect of quelling Luke's tears it only made him cry all the harder, this time with sweet relief.
Will removed the hand from his head and Luke stiffened, tightening the hug, he wasn't ready to let go just yet. His brother's hand moved down to pet his back instead and Luke hiccoughed, trying to get his emotions under control as the soft patting began to sooth him. He did what he was told and reluctantly pulled back to look at Will, he probably looked a state, his face red, eyes puffy and nose running, but his relief at seeing his brother awake made all that irrelevant.
Luke gave a few big shuddering breaths and wiped at the tears on his cheeks with his sleeve. Allan was still here and now that the panic was over he felt bad for overreacting. And for head butting him, it must have been quite a blow, his cheek was still throbbing where it had connected with the man's forehead. He twisted to look for the outlaw, still holding on to Will's arm just to make sure he couldn't go anywhere, and saw Allan reaching for a bucket, mumbling something about fetching water. Luke gave him a small grateful smile, he appreciated the offer of privacy, he wasn't sure he could tell anyone else what he'd dreamed.
Once Allan was out of earshot he looked back a Will, his face crumpling with emotion again. Once he started crying it was hard to stop. ”I was so worried about you.” He whispered, voice on the verge of cracking. ”And then, in my dream, you were gone. All of you.” He sniffed and met Will's gaze with watery eyes, knowing his brother would be able to offer him comfort.

”I was so worried about you.” Will felt the ping of guilt form again seeing Luke start to cry again. "I'm sorry for worry you" he had tried to stay awake before but the pain alone was way to much for him to stay awake. ”And then, in my dream, you were gone. All of you.” the older Scarlett boy nodded sadly knowing what Luke must of saw in his dream. "I'm not going anywhere for a long time Luke" he said with a smile before lifting his good hand and messing with the top Luke's head a little.
"You did good, back at Nottingham with what was going on" from what Will could remember anyways. Everything was still kinda hazy from being rescued. But he could remember passing his axe's to Luke and watching his sibling take out a guard rather easily. "Father would be proud" Will said with a tiny proud smile himself.

Luke ducked his head as Will ruffled his hair, no doubt tangling it up and making it stick out. He appreciated the contact though and managed a shaky smile in his brother's direction. He nodded in understanding, feeling reassured that his brother would not be leaving him any time soon, but still felt the need to confess to Will exactly how worried he'd been.
"When we were in the dungeons the jailer told us you were dead, and you were so still, I thought for a moment it was true." He explained to his brother, wiping furiously at his eyes so he didn't start crying again. "And then you woke up and I thought everything was going to be okay..." He trailed off feeling foolish for what he was about to say, especially since Will was clearly fine. "But you collapsed and Djaq wouldn't let me near you! I thought- I thought..." He stuttered over the words, unable to vocalise what he'd been thinking for fear the rising hysteria would take over again.
"Would he?" Luke asked hopefully when he felt he had a grip on his emotions enough to speak. He felt a small glow of pride as Will told him their father would have been proud of him. "I wasn't sure I could do it." He confessed quietly, looking at the floor and blushing slightly.

"When we were in the dungeons the jailer told us you were dead, and you were so still, I thought for a moment it was true""Never believe a word that comes out of a persons mouth that lives in the castle" nobody in Nottingham was really truth worthy anymore. That was one of the many downsides of Vaysey being in control of well everything. He had more eyes and ears around Nottinghamshire then Robin did.
"But you collapsed and Djaq wouldn't let me near you! I thought- I thought..." "Djaq needed to tend to me she had a good reason to not let you near me till she was done" one thing Will learned was once Djaq was needed medically just step back and let do her job. At least that what he figured since last year when Marian was stabbed by Gisborne.
"I wasn't sure I could do it.""Don't doubt yourself so much Luke, you know the skills from what me and father taught you. It was the right time to use them if it hadn't been for you doing so god knows what would of happened to all of us" they probably all would of been captured and left to rot in the dungeons like Will was going to if he had not been saved when he did. Well if the dying of blood loss didn't get him first in the end.

Luke leaned against Will's bed feeling exhausted from lack of sleep and the fact that he hadn't eaten in almost a day. Will's words were soothing, spoken in that quietly confident way that erased all his doubts and made him feel slightly foolish for working himself up into such a state of worry. As the tension drained out of him he started to feel sleepy again, but he did not want to leave his brother's side just yet and he was afraid he would be plagued by dreams again. It would be better to remain awake in Will's company than enter that nightmare world again.
"Do you really think so?" He questioned smiling with pride at his brother's approval. "I didn't do that much, it was all Robin and the gang really. They came up with the plan that got us in and out. All I did was hit a guard without dropping your axe." He fell silent for a while, enjoying listening to the distinct differences between Will now that he was awake and what he had been like before when he was unconscious. The breathing, while shallower, was more steady and every so often he could feel his brother shift to try and get comfortable.
"I think," Luke said, breaking the silence. "That I'd like for you to teach me how to use an axe properly. Would you do that?" He asked. He'd never really shown that much interest in what Will and Dan had tried to teach him before, but just being with his brother again made him wish he'd paid more attention to their lessons.

"I think, that I'd like for you to teach me how to use an axe properly. Would you do that?""Course Luke, anyways I don't think I am gonna be that much help to Robin at least for a little while" he said motioning towards his wrapped up hand. Even though he could now move slightly it still hurt to do. The last thing he wanted to do was to cause any strain on it to make it worse.
"You should get some sleep" the brunette said shifting his eyes towards where Luke was sleeping before. "You must be exhausted" with all the worrying about Will was amazed that his younger sibling was sleeping standing up some where. He had seen it happen before with Allan and it didn't look all that comfortable when it did happen.

"You heal quickly though." Luke insisted stubbornly looking at Will closely for any signs that his injuries were worse than he was letting on. What if his brother was only pretending to be okay to protect him? "You'll be back helping Robin in no time." He assured him, with the total belief that every little brother has for their older sibling. "They need you."
Luke was exhausted, but he wasn't going to sleep with Will awake and the fear of another nightmare hovering not far off. "No!" He said, perhaps a little too desperately. He didn't want Will to know that he didn't want to go back to sleep because he would just be plagued by nightmares again. He was older now and he should be able to deal with this kind of thing, it was embarrassing enough that he'd had to be woken by Allan in the first place.
He looked at the floor, hoping that a lack of eye contact with Will would prevent his brother from doing that uncanny thing where he read Luke like a book. Will needed to rest and get better not spend his time worrying about his little brother who couldn't even handle a few nightmares.

"You heal quickly though.""That's what she said.." Will said out loud and suddenly wondered why he did. He shifted his glance to Luke kind of hoping he didn't catch what he had said. Even if he did Will wouldn't be able to explain it even to his younger sibling if he could. "You'll be back helping Robin in no time""Yeah, I suppose, Guy isn't going to be very happy that I got out of the dungeons alive" the brunette boy said with a tiny sigh as he idly tugged at the blanket covering him.
"No!""Yes!" Will said raising his voice a little not enough to hurt himself more like a harsh whisper. "We both need our rest, more so you then me, I've already have had enough sleep to tell you the truth"Will said with a tiny laugh but it slowly died off. "Really Luke, get some sleep I'll be here when you wake up alright" he said flashing the younger boy a tiny look.

"When is Gisborne ever happy?" Luke asked with a grimace thinking about the forever darkly brooding right hand man of the Sheriff. In truth he was more than a little afraid of Guy, he seemed capable of deeds far beyond the cruelty that Luke had seen him display. It was something about his eyes, the way they burned with a fury that made Luke's blood run cold.
"I know you will, but I'm not tired." He lied, the dark smudges under his eyes and a huge drawn out yawn revealing the fib to Will even as he spoke it. Even though sleep was trying it's best to overtake him he was still reluctant to leave his brother's side. He felt safer here and it was definitely preferable to seeing the lifeless bodies of his family as he slept.
"I'll wait until Allan returns at least." Luke said, daring his brother to say he should leave sooner. "I don't think you should be left unobserved just yet, we did only just get you out." He didn't think he would ever stop worrying about Will and he didn't care if his brother found it irritating, now he knew what it was like to have an overprotective sibling.

"When is Gisborne ever happy?""When ever Marian is around?" it was true Guy was only ever happy when Marian was around. Now that she was with Robin and not in the castle Will figured that Guy was more mad the ever. Thinking that over what he had gone through in the dungeons maybe Guy was just letting his anger out over the fact that both Marian and Allan had betrayed him.
"I'll wait until Allan returns at least. I don't think you should be left unobserved just yet, we did only just get you out.""I don't need to watched like a child Luke" more or less he didn't want to be fussed over. He was awake and that was probably on the of the good things. Now he just had to worry about was well everything else. His ribs felt like a horse and run over him but thankfully his hand wasn't hurting as bad.

Luke shrugged as Will mentioned Gisborne's obsession with Marian. "He can't be too pleased that she's with the gang now though." He pointed out, knowing that "can't be too pleased" was a vast understatement. He grinned at his brother suddenly, thinking about how much he'd missed just talking to him. It was all going to change now though, he was back in Nottingham and he was here to stay.
"You do, otherwise you go running off and get yourself into all kinds of trouble." He mock scolded, referring to Will's heroic but foolish antics of the previous day. It was easy to make at joke of it now that they were out of the woods, or in their case back into them. "I don't know how Robin takes you anywhere. Does Allan have to hold your hand when crossing paths in case of oncoming coaches?" He teased, knowing that Will would probably give him a clip round the ear for it, but not caring.
Luke stifled another huge yawn, so that Will wouldn't try to send him to bed again, and rubbed his eyes to try and wipe the need for sleep away. He had said he was going to stay up until Allan returned and so that's what he was going to do. He just hoped the thief didn't take too long fetching water or he'd fall asleep where he was sitting.

Allan had kind of enjoyed his little walk down to the stream; he'd woken himself up a bit with a few splashes of water and filled the bucket, only to find a hole in the bottom let all the water back out when he was halfway back to camp. Grumbling, he'd walked back, shoved a large stone in the bottom of the bucket to fill the hole in temporarily, and filled the damn thing up again. His walk back the second time was decidedly less pleasant; the squirrels that so enjoyed winding Much up seemed to have picked Allan as their new target, throwing their nuts at him instead.
As he approached camp, he heard slightly more teasing tones coming from the two brothers, and something about Allan having to hold Will's hand. Well, what spectacular timing.
Amused, he strode into camp and dumped the bucket in the kitchen, coming to stand beside his friend's bunk and grin.
"I have to hold his hand when we go anywhere, ain't that right little Will-ikins?" he teased, glancing at Luke as he tried to hide a yawn. He rolled his eyes.
"Go, sleep," Allan muttered, shooing Luke away and settling back down on the floor beside Will. When Luke didn't move, he raised an eyebrow. "You can't keep an eye on him if you can't keep your eyes open. By the time you're up, everyone else will be too, and you won't have to worry."

"I don't know how Robin takes you anywhere. Does Allan have to hold your hand when crossing paths in case of oncoming coaches?" "Ha ha very funny" Will said with a tiny eye roll before hearing Allan enter the camp once again. "We were beginning to think you fell in the stream Allan" the brunette outlaw said with laugh before shifting his glance to Luke.
"You can't keep an eye on him if you can't keep your eyes open. By the time you're up, everyone else will be too, and you won't have to worry." "You heard him" he said with a tiny nod directed at Luke.

Luke laughed when Allan walked back into the camp and began to tease his brother too. It seemed he'd found a partner in crime when it came to winding up Will. Somewhere along the way the laugh turned into another huge yawn, which Luke tried to hide behind a hand as he shifted and stretched to work the stiffness out of his limbs. He held his ground as Allan tried to shoo him away to bed again. He wasn't going to do as the outlaw said just because he was being nice to him. It would take more than that to overcome this particular strain of Scarlett stubborn behaviour.
"You two are like my parents." He grumbled, rubbing sleep from his eyes again. Then he winced as the throw away comment reminded him of Dan and Jane. They'd chased him to bed many a time when he was younger, ignoring his protests that Will got to stay up later just because he was older. "I'm not that tired anyway." Luke lied weakly. It was clearly untrue, but he was kind of hoping that if he complained enough they would just give up. He resisted the urge to lean against Allan as he knew that if he let his head drop for even a minute he would fall asleep and prove the two outlaws right.
