Another uneventful day here at home. Pa seems tired as ever, but of course he won't let me see it. Does he not think I can't see his sighs? He hasn't been the same since Ma left...

But anyway, life shouldn't been about the bad! We had good business today, we're on the way to making enough money to pay our taxes and have some money to spare. Pa has promised some of the money will go towards my new dress, this one it getting just a little too small. I know I should wear my Ma's old dresses, the ones she left behind but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Maybe it'll be cheaper, though, if I take the dresses to a seamstress and have them modified. I wonder... Oh well, it doesn't matter yet. I have to find a mask, there's a fair and masquerade at Knighton tomorrow. I can't wait! Fairs are always good. They are a chance to forget real life, and the Silver Arrow Contest sounds exciting.

I wonder if any outlaws will turn up, like they did last year. I hope Robin Hood does. Things are far more interesting when he turns up. Though the fair should be pretty entertaining anyway. And the masquerade! I know we have a mask somewhere. A red one.
