So, because of the activity check, Robin Hood and Will Scarlett have become available. Also Little John is available. These two characters are key to many of our plots so we need a strong and active RPGer to play these two. Remember if you have an existing character with close ties to either Robin or Will we wouldn't recommend taking them on. (For example we wouldn't advise Lou applying for Robin as she already plays Marian and the two should interact a lot.)
So please fill out this form and write a good sample post in the character you want to play then post it below.

The admins will decide who is the best to play the characters.

Despite what Adele said, he knew there was more to it than that. But he was enough of a friend to leave it at that until she was ready to trust him more … after all they had known each other for not even a day. “I’m glad that you had as a good a time as I did, and that you enjoy my company, Adele, at least as a friend. We’ll have to make outings like this a more regular, if unpredictable habit.”
"We should spend more time together," she said suddenly. Sitting up all the way, Adelaide grasped the wooden deer in her hands. She sat up on her knees, pulling the dress around her closer with her free hand. "I... have to go, though, before I'm missed - family dinner..." she sighed a little, and the disappointment was obvious on her face.
“I was wondering if you would be missed staying this far away from the town. It’ll take you some time to get back as well. I’ll walk you to at least the edge of the forest.” Noting e disappointment on her face he said, “Well you know they say absence makes the heart grow fonder,” with a laugh.
She tilted her head and smiled at him again. "When are you next free? And where can we meet that's safe...?" Adelaide asked curiously.
“Well, absolutely the most safe is the forest for me. I am somewhat familiar with Nottingham, but I think it would have to be somewhere safe outside the castle walls, don’t you think. You might ask Marian and see if she has any suggestions. You are more familiar with those areas than me I expect. At this point in time I am pretty free, and as a result am at your command,” he said with a broad smile. So, what is your suggestion, milady? “ He too her by her hands, which were free, since she had her dress wrapped around her, and helped her up. When she stood up her face was just inches away from his upper chest and lower neck, and their eyes locked once more, “’cause I really want to see you again as soon as possible, .... as in like yesterday,’ and it was his turn to smile.
"I know that your heart probably isn't in this family gathering. However, family is important, even if they are noble snobs. Its difficult to understand the importance of family until you don't have them anymore. Anyway, after you've survived them .... see if you can get away in the morning rush and meet me at the forest edge where we met this morning, and will go off a bit deeper in the forest and make another day of it. If you can't show I'll understand .... just remember I'll always wait for you. Now, we better start you on your way."
OOC - didn't see a need to create the full charrie profile so that's why its "Robert Williams"

Your Name: Simone. Name of the character you want to play: Will Scarlett. Sample Post: The bright sun of early spring began to descend gracefully across the western sky, casting its warmth upon the ancient forest of Nottinghamshire. A flock of sparrow delighted in the arriving season, trilling sweetly whilst chasing winter from the returning leaves of Sherwood. Beneath their merry flight, a young man and his brother crept silently toward a deer that had paused to drink from a shallow stream. The elder brother was lean and lithe, nimble as he guided his younger sibling through thicket and bramble toward the crest of a low hill. The younger was gaunt and clumsy, stumbling foolishly as his brother ascended the hill and command he lay by his feet. Obediently, the younger boy fell and crept forward on his stomach until he could gaze at the stream as it flowed around the hill base.
The deer bathed in the stream whilst the boys kept low upon the hill. Kneeling to peer into the stream below, the elder boy then brought an elegant, ash wood bow from beneath his cloak and cast an accomplished smile toward his brother. The boys had craftily stolen the longbow from their father’s workshop whilst he had been tilling wood in the morning. They had kept it hidden beneath a deer pelt before stealing away for the evening under the pretence of a simple stroll. The bow had been intended for a castle guard and so bore the toil of a beautiful weapon. Delicately crafted from a branch of well-aged wood, the stave was bound in woven rawhide to suffice a handle, the string was carefully braided hemp. The elder boy cautiously bent the wood to measure the curve of the draw and, when satisfied, took an arrow from the quiver bound to his brother’s back.
The elder boy breathed deeply, closing his eyes and listening to the forest whilst nocking the arrow to the string. He felt the soft, raven feathered tail between his fingers and became aware that the bow did not balance similarly to his axe. His confidence wavered, for the smooth, supple stave could be lofted more easily then his heavy-headed axe handle. He had not wielded a longbow since his mother had passed and would perhaps not recall the craft. The thought of the beautiful woman came to occupy his conscious, her suffering death beating a heavy ache against his chest. Clenching his jaw, he decided he would not allow the starvation that brought her to death to harm his family again.
“For Jane Scarlett,” he murmured, releasing the arrow toward the deer. The arrow shivered through the forest, chasing down the hillside to strike the deer in the chest. The animal leapt once, a fleeting fright before falling heavily into the streambed. Glad, as though the successful hunt would please his mother, Will Scarlett slung the longbow over his shoulder and began toward the stream. His younger brother, Luke, followed eagerly, stumbling clumsily down the hillside before splashing across the ford. Together, they carried the deer to the roadside and pried the arrowhead from her plump flank. Returning the arrow to Luke’s quiver, Will then heaved the deer onto his shoulders and started home toward Locksley, satisfied his mastery would afford his family’s supper.

Your Name: Cate Name of the character you want to play: Robin Hood
Sample Post: It was the middle of the day, the sun at it's zenith, but there was no sweltering heat, it was quelled by a cooling breeze. In the shadows, scrutinising the new Manor in Knighton, were eyes unimpressed and bitter, by the mere sight of the building. This was not what it should've looked like, nor was it occupied by it's rightful owners. The building was a disgrace and so was the rule of Nottingham. Leaning against the tree providing the shadows, a re-curve bow resting on the ground, both hands clasped lightly to the top of the limb, a mental picture of the old Knighton Manor grew before him.
Robin tilted his head to one side, so it to was resting on the trunk of the tree, regarding the building before him. A half smiled curled one side of his mouth. Memories were a great thing, the outlaw could remember the amount of times he tapped on the shutters of that one bedroom window. How when those shutters opened, a radiant face with beautiful smiling eyes would greet him. Or how, in an impulsive mood Robin would simply climb in through the window and wait for Marian to open the door and surprise her. The half smile he'd been wearing finally cracked into a proper smile. How many times had he had to climb out of that window when interrupted by unwanted and unwelcome parties?
Just thinking back to these memories was enough to warm his heart and soften his eyes. No matter what Guy of Gisbourne did, there was always one thing Robin had that the Sheriff's lap dog didn't. It was Marian, and her love. The outlaw knew that and it killed Guy because he knew it too.
The social call had to end early, because as Robin had learned there was always someone in need of help. And this time, the journey to that person wasn't far. Across in the village a mother was screaming out and along with her was a child crying out in fear. Skirting the houses, remaining undetected until the cause of cacophony was discovered. In the village square an entire family, mother, father, son and young daughter were knelt before everyone. Three of the Sheriff's men standing behind them, and a declaration of what they had done would soon be forthcoming, it always did. "These criminals, here before you, are a disgrace to this towns name. While you have all been paying taxes to the Sheriff to help improve the standards in the village and your lives, this family has taken it open themselves to not pay!" The guard, or whatever job title he had, was spitting out every word with malice and hatred that couldn't be missed by a blind man. "They've taken the money that by right belongs to the Sheriff to feed themselves and live in comfort." Robin, knelt behind a near by fence, looking at the family, and knew immediately there was no way they were any better off than the other villagers. "Please. We had to feed our children." The mother begged for mercy on behalf of her family, but to no avail. The guard who had been waving a scroll, or some warrant in his hand, and clad in dark leather, turned to the woman and back handed her, knocking the woman onto her side. It was enough for the outlaw, who stood up, vaulted the fence and made straight for the town square.
"You'd hit your mother like that?" The people who'd been dragged out to watch this pitiful site, cleared to let Robin through. The guards immediately looked up to see who spoke. "I've seen where these people's taxes go. The sheriff is getting quite decadent these days." Stopping, so there was still plenty of room between the outlaw and the guards he gave a mocking smile. It was true that Robin loved to make a dramatic entrance, but it was a secret that stayed within his skull and would never be admitted. "The taxes are a sham, and I'm having this family pardoned, free to go." The face on the guard, holding his warrant turned sour and he spat out with infinite contempt. "On whose authority?" "King Richard's." The entire village went silent, as the guard tried to regain himself from that unexpected reply. "He has no authority here. Now be silent peasant!" Robn raised his bow, which had been held at his side, and pulled out an arrow. "He's the rightful King of England. How can he have no authority?!" The voice of the outlaw was much more dangerous, and in the next second he released the arrow, it flew straight and true into the warrant the guard had been wielding. "Give this message to the Sheriff: these are the King's people, and they don't recognise his authority. Or his power which can be bought and sold." Robin already had another arrow ready, and the three guards could see this wasn't worth the trouble. "We shall be back to collect." And with that, they re-mounted their steads and turned around. One final arrow and the purse attached to the guard's saddle bag fell to the floor. Whether the guard was aware of this or not was unclear as they three men cantered off to Nottingham.
Once they were out of sight, he lowered his bow, and walked through the villagers, all of them in awe, to pick up the purse. That in hand, Robin went to the family in the middle of the square. They couldn't thank him enough, and it caused the outlaw to smile broadly. "Take this and feed these two well." It was enough to feed the family for a week, kneeling down he spoke to both children. "And you two look after your parents." With a wink he was back on his feet and heading out of the village with the purse. It was folly to leave it in the village, if the Sheriff found out, he'd send more men to kill everyone in the village until he found the money. In Robin's hands he could ensure the money went on food and was distributed fairly among all the villagers. Smiling as he headed back to his lair, another truth about Robin was that he did love to be loved, it gave him a sense of worth and that the outlaw was really doing a good job for the people of Nottingham and all in the name of his King, who he served for so long and so well.
[Sorry, didn't realise how long it was until I previewed it. :/ ]

Okay guys, Auditions are over and I'm delighted to say that Cate will now be playing Robin. The mods are still deliberating over who'll be playing Will, but we'll get back to you ASAP. Both characters will still need an application filled out, but you wont have to give an RP sample =]

The staff have come to a decision on who will be playing Will Scarlett. It was a tough choice, but in the end we went for Simone. Congratulations! Feel free to start writing a profile for him, you won't need an RP sample as this audition is enough. Commiseration to Will, it was a close call!
